Budget League
A Rocket League-like game with low-poly graphics.
About This Game
A Rocket League-like game with low-poly graphics. The main idea behind the project was to create a "demake" of Rocket League with visuals inspired by games from the early 90s.
I tried to recreate some of its core mechanics, such as boosting and driving up walls and ramps. There are still some bugs, and the game is still under development.
If everything goes well, I want to implement a two-player mode and multiplayer as a proof of concept.
The arena, ball, goals, boost pads, UI and every sound effect are procedural — the sound cues are synthesised at startup from a table. The only imported art is the Quartenius Cars Pack

The Journey of Making This Game
My experience creating this game was very rewarding. By adapting the Markdown structure from Uniday’s Master Class, I was able to create a functional Rocket League-like game with artificial intelligence.
Most of the core mechanics have already been implemented, and now I only need to polish a few rough edges before reaching the final version of the project.
With this initial foundation, I have overcome much of the uncertainty and hesitation I had about game development, and I plan to use the knowledge I gained from this project in future work.
How Uniday Studio Helped
Uniday helped me by offering an excellent master class on game development using generative AI. In this particular project, we built our own game engine using Raylib and C++, along with Jolt Physics for physics simulation and GLM for mathematical calculations.
Uniday also provided assets and valuable tips throughout the course, which helped me successfully complete this project.
