Orc Age
Orc Age is a 2D strategy game inspired by classic lane-defense games such as Age of War.
Human kingdoms are invading the lands of the monsters, and for once, you are not the hero. Command an army of goblins, orcs, and ogres to defend your stronghold and destroy the human fortress before your enemies overwhelm you.

Story
For generations, humans have portrayed monsters as villains. In Orc Age, you experience the conflict from the other side. The human kingdoms have launched a crusade against the monster clans, and it is up to the orcs to defend their homeland.
What Makes It Unique?
Most fantasy games place players in the role of heroes fighting monsters. Orc Age flips that perspective, allowing players to command the monster army instead. Rather than saving a kingdom, you defend one.
Developer's Experience
Developing Orc Age was a great opportunity to learn a new game engine while creating a complete game prototype in a short period of time.
The project was inspired by classic strategy and lane-defense games, especially Age of War. One of the biggest challenges was implementing unit spawning, combat systems, resource management, enemy waves, and base defense mechanics using a completely new engine and scripting language.
During development, I learned how to structure game systems, balance units and upgrades, and organize gameplay mechanics to create an engaging experience. Since I am primarily a programmer rather than an artist, I also had to work with simple visuals and focus on gameplay first.
This project helped me improve my problem-solving skills, understand the workflow of the Tiniest2D engine, and gain experience creating a strategy game from concept to playable prototype within the constraints of a game jam.
How Uniday Helped
Uniday Studio was essential to the development of this project. The Tiniest2D course provided a clear introduction to the engine, covering the editor, sprites, scenes, scripting, collisions, physics, UI systems, and best practices.
The tutorials and documentation helped me quickly understand how to build gameplay systems and solve technical challenges during development. Because of these learning resources, I was able to spend more time designing and implementing game mechanics instead of struggling with the fundamentals of the engine.
The Game Jam itself was also a great motivation to put the knowledge into practice and create a complete playable game.
