Stove
Stove is a lightweight 3D modeling and painting tool built for creating low-poly, stylized, and retro game assets. Model, paint, organize, and export your assets through a fast and focused workflow without the complexity of a traditional 3D suite.
About This Game
Stove is a lightweight 3D modeling and texture-painting application built specifically for creating low-poly, stylized, and retro game assets.

Instead of trying to be another all-purpose 3D suite, Stove focuses on one thing: getting you from an idea to a finished, textured game asset as quickly as possible. Open Stove, start from a primitive or import an OBJ, model your asset, let Stove generate the UVs for you, paint directly on the model, and export the finished result as OBJ.
A simpler 3D workflow
Stove is organized around three straightforward modes:
- View: inspect your finished asset without editing overlays getting in the way.
- Model: create and edit your geometry with familiar vertex, edge, and face modeling tools.
- Paint: paint the texture directly onto the 3D surface without having to manage a UV editor.
- Zoo: check all your assets in one place to quickly visualize, adjust and improve them all.
UV generation is handled automatically, so you can spend your time working on the asset instead of manually arranging UV islands.
Built for Game Assets
Stove is designed around the kind of assets you actually need when making stylized and retro games: props, weapons, vegetation, rocks, furniture, vehicles, simple non animated characters, and more.
Projects can contain multiple independent assets, and Zoo Mode lets you arrange and view your entire collection together, giving you a quick visual overview of everything you've created.
Focused by Design
There are no complicated workspaces, modifier stacks, node editors, PBR material graphs, rendering pipelines, or dozens of panels competing for your attention.
Stove keeps the workflow intentionally small:
Model. Paint. Export.
That's it.
The result is a fast, clean 3D tool made for developers and artists who want to spend more time creating assets and less time configuring software.

What Stove is NOT for:
-
Stove is not designed for realistic or high-poly modeling, rendering, or complex 3D production workflows.
-
It is also not a scene composition tool. You cannot use Stove to build complete environments, arrange levels, place lights and cameras, or compose a finished scene.
-
Stove is not an animation software and currently does not have support for bones, armatures and skeletal animation.
Stove is specifically built for creating individual game assets, painting them, and exporting them to be used inside a game engine.

## Suggestions for Improving Stove I have a few suggestions that I think could greatly improve the modeling experience in Stove: 1. **Applying external images and textures:** I think it would be very useful to be able to automatically apply third-party images and textures to models, making customization easier and avoiding the need to do it manually. 2. **Language selection:** It would be great to have an option to change the interface language, so that more users can use Stove comfortably. 3. **Mirror modeling:** It would be very useful to have a mirror modeling feature, similar to Blender’s *Mirror* tool. This would make creating symmetrical models much easier and allow users to work faster.
My favorite thing about Stove is how quickly I can lock in and focus on making a great model. It has limitations, yes, but I believe limitations are exactly what I need as an artist. I love the Zoo feature too and I look forward to making many assets to use in Cave Engine!
There are some things i would like you to add: Add Eyedropper so we can directly pick color from the object pixels, its tedious to select color matching object, Add feature like blender when you inset multiple faces it gives extra option on side to choose inset options like Individual inset, select outer, outset.
Linux is not yet officially supported. However, I have no issues when I run it with Steam using the latest Proton version. It works like a native application!
I like the simplicity of Stove, it's a nice and easy to use tool for low-poly content creation. I miss and would like Stove to have the option to generate UV with no inverted(/flipped) faces, also to choose a fill color or get an average color from the paint layer as background (in the color texture/image).
@ROTTEN MACHINE! No, but it should run using Wine. I run it on an M1 Mac using Porting Kit.
Stove a very good program. I suggest a quick reference keyboard mouse function. This key and / or mouse function does this type of action. just something quick rerference to look at.
I recently purchased Stove 3D and was really excited to use it for low-poly modeling, but unfortunately, I’m running into a launching error. When I try to open the app, it throws a "Failed to initialize Direct 3D 11" error because my laptop's GPU (Intel HD Graphics 3000) only supports up to DirectX 10.1 feature levels at the hardware level. Since the executable strictly requires Direct3D 11 hardware initialization, I'm unable to open or use the software on my current setup. I'd love to know if there are any plans for an OpenGL fallback or legacy DX build, or if I should process a refund request through itch.io for the time being.
feels nice to use and bought to show support, however it is very primitive and there are a few key features missing to make it viable for my workflow. overall a really cool piece of software though
Hey I'd appreciate the option to export as GLB.
hoping to see this running on linux, if you need help for that let me know. buying to show support to Brazilian Brothers. Abraço de um Português.
Just bought this after seeing the video go viral "or, its on my feed at least lol" hope you guys are super successful with this!
Hey there! Can we get the option to flip to Z axis as up? Thanks!
Hey! I'd like to buy it and try it out, but I need something to be verified first. Does Stove have Linux support? I couldn't find anything on the YT video or the Itch.io page
I like this very much, I made a project that was similar a few months ago but it was buggy and this is def more polished then what I made. Also can you consider adding Loop Cuts with CTL+R? Last thing, I would like to work with you if you ever do Godot Engine related stuff and your art style is the same as mine.
hey stove is a really nice software. ive been tinkering with it and i cant seem to find the mask option ?
